ASTR132: Stars, Galaxies, and Cosmology |
ASTR132 is kind of the big sibling of ASTR4B, both cover stars and galaxies. This class being upper divison, the depth we dive into topics will be greater, and there will be tougher concepts to wrap our heads around. That said, this isn't an astrophysics class, and while there will be the odd bit of maths, most of the class is graded on written assignments.
This class will meet three times a week over the Spring semester. We approximately follow the textbook Astronomy: a Phsyical Perspective by Kutner, though won't go into as much mathematical detail.
